Welcome to the AO Davos Courses 2019
Welcome to the AO Spine Courses 2019!
Following last year's great success, this year's AO Spine courses will again focuse on minimally invasive spine surgery (MISS) and this year will also include a complex cervical problems course.
Over three days, you will experience expert-level teaching on micro-decompression,
endoscopy, percutaneous fixation and complex cervical spine surgery, allowing you to
both improve your skills on the microscope, the endoscope, and complex cervical solutions.
You had the opportunity to choose from four courses:
- Course one: Introduction level course on Endoscopy
- Course two: Advanced level course on Endoscopy
- Course three: Advanced level course on Micro-decompressio and Percutaneous Fixation
- Course four: Advanced level course on Complex Cervical Problems
In courses one, three, and four, the hands-on training will use lifelike simulators. In course two, the first two days of the hands-on training will use lifelike simulators and the third day of the training human specimens will be used.
On Monday morning, we will begin with two seminars: One will be on the topic of optimizing elderly patients for spine surgery, and a debate-like session focusing on the future of simulation in spine education.
In addition to the hands-on sessions, you will have the opportunity to engage in case
discussions as well as in the always-very-popular “The good, the bad, the ugly—a case
that taught me a lesson” panel discussions.
We look forward to seeing you in Davos from 8-11 December!
